Master Socket Question

Hi

I have looked at the wiring again in the house and the master socket is not the first socket. Where the line enters the house there is a non-master socket > master socket > non-master socket in series.Having really bad broadband is how can I tell whether this is a bodge job and the master socket needs moving so to improve broadband speeds.

Regards,

Darren

Re: Master Socket Question

It should be NTE - LJU - LJU.

Although in all fairness as long as they run in a Daisy Chain I don’t think it’ll have much of a negative affect on your connection.

Re: Master Socket Question

Thank you, the attenuation on the line is 40dB and noise 7dB just achieving 6mbps, plugged into test socket. Would I be able to squeeze anything out of this?

Re: Master Socket Question

Thank you, 2.5mbps adsl upto 4 vdsl

So going back to the question will the internal house wiring reduce the performance on the line at all as the nte5c is not the first socket in the house? I have filed a USO but I am sure that the costs will be so high to upgrade the circuit to the house.
