Master socket problems

I have had broadband problems since BT updated the cables in my area. At the latest conversation with BT call centre, I was advised to change my front part of the master socket. They say that it is very expensive if BT replaced it because they have to change the complete master socket.

The question I have is that whose responsibility is the master socket maintenance? BT provides the master socket. Shouldn't they be responsible for replacing it if it is faulty? This is part of their sysem.

Re: Master socket problems

If I were you I would ring back and speak to someone who is not a complete idiot, the whole of the NTE5a including the front plate is the property of the BT Group plc.
