A BT engineer came on an unscheduled visit and fitted our master socket in the hall way, he never asked where we wanted it as he couldn't speak much English and we didn't know what he was doing at the time.
BT now want to charge us £130 to move it - I think not!
We would have to mount the hub on the wall in the hallway(so you bashed it if the the front door went back too far), plug it in (running a plug across the hallway so you tripped over it as you came in the front door) and put the telephone on the floor as the hallway isn't wide enough for any furniture. Am I right?
No easy answer to this . If you didnt like where he put it you would have to have made that plain to him before he fitted it. Your only hope is that he couldnt understand what you said at the time and use that as an excuse when you contact BT. In my day the customer said put the socket there and we did that. Maybe marked on the wall if they werent there.
