Microsoft Silverlight

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the plans are for watching BT TV on a Windows based machine after October this year when Microsoft withdraw support for Silverlight ?

To be fair, Microsoft stopped "supporting" Silverlight years ago - it has always been really unreliable, and documentation on the errors it produces is pretty much non-existent. The BT TV app on Windows has always been a nightmare to support.
MS have set an EOS date of October 12th 2021, but nothing actually stops working on that day.
It's obviously not our intention to keep the app running when it's no longer supported though - we have a few options to choose from before then.

Without wishing to sound as if I'm having a dig (and certainly not at you personally), but recent BT updates (email & BT Cloud for example) have not impressed with their failings and apparent lack of professionalism, lets hope that any future updates are a lot better  written.

One things for sure, they couldn't be any worse ... or could they ? (let's just hope the developers don't take that last bit as a challenge)

I'm not aware of what you're referring to with Email and BT Cloud (I'm not connected with those dev teams), but I'd hate to think that professionalism was an issue.
Quite often, issues aren't found until updates are put live - no amount of testing and trials can account for every possible customer variation in setup and use.

As for TV app updates - I can definitely vouch for the dev and test team there, as I've worked with them all for many years. Any update made will be tested thoroughly to the best of our abilities.
