Missing HD Channels on Youview Box

Go to solution

I've seen a few posts regarding missing channels on Youview boxes, but none highlighting this exact issue, so bear with me...

I have an existing BT Youview box (DTR-T2110) which functions perfectly and receives all channels.

I then decided to upgrade to the 4K BT Youview box (DTR-T4000)

The problem is, when I set up the T4000 it fails to find any channels between 087-210

If I go to channel 1 on the T2110 it shows signal strength 100% and signal quality 100%, but if I go to channel 1 on the T4000, it shows strength 100% and signal quality 50%?? I took the box to another location and it picks up all channels ok.

As I bought the T4000 second hand, I'm not sure if it's a problem with the box or not.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I've heard people suggeting using a 6db attenuator if the signal strength is too high, but I'm not sure if this would help in this case? Why would one box pick up all the channels ok and the other doesn't?

Welcome to this user forum. @Glasgowgman57

If you tried the T4000 on the same aerial feed as your working box, then its faulty, or its signal overload.

If its on a different aerial feed, then I would suspect a fault with that aerial feed.

Hi Keith,

Just as a follow up to this, I tried using a 6dB attenuator and it now picks up all the missing channels!

So it was signal overload, that is often overlooked by many people, even aerial installers.

I am pleased you have it sorted Smiley Happy
