Re: Missing channels regularly

You could test this by attenuating the signal and retuning.  If the signal is attenuated enough, the box will not 'see' the weaker transmitter and only tune to the stronger one

Re: Missing channels regularly

Note

My box failed again today and lost around 80 channels, all of which were available after another retune.  Speaking to BT, they offered me a replacement box, but I would loose all my present recorded material, so am thinking about how to proceed

Re: Missing channels regularly

At least you got that far: I have the same problem and was not even given that option.

Unfortunately not as the two signals are roughly the same strength (showing about 70% with 100% quality).

Re: Missing channels regularly

A question to others.  My issues began after the recent retune to accommodate for example, the move of Yesterday to ch 25 from ch 19.  Anyone else?

Re: Missing channels regularly

I'm also having this problem.

For info, I'm tuned into the Emley Moor transmitter. It's a BT YouView box, DTRT2100, 84B08500. Component software: 3.6.154, Manufacturer software: 32.36.0.

Fitting an attenuator has made no difference.

I've had the problem for a while now.  BT sent me a replacement box to attempt to fix it.  It made no difference.  They then made me do a full factory reset on the replacement box when it didn't fix the problem.   The reason they gave for a full factory reset was:

sometimes, the new set top box, also has a software and hardware issue, so normally it gets fixed, after performing the factory reset, so informed you to perform the reset and let us know.

The factory reset did not fix the problem either.

We've had the problem most recently today (3rd Feb 2020).  The previous time was 21st January 2020 and before that was sometime in December.

This thread here: YouView: large-numbers-of-channels-going-missing-each-time-theres-a-reorganisation-of-freeview#lates... is claiming that they are currently trialling a fix for this with Humax and is being tested at the moment.

Re: Missing channels regularly

The channels disappeared again overnight. Twice in a week - that's fun! There has also been a software update on the BT YouView box. Mine is now on:

Component software: 3.6.168, Manufacturer software: 32.41.0.

Lets hope one of the software updates is for fixing the re-scan problem instead of it just being a "feature" update (I see a new Watch List and sections for TV Shows and Films).
