My own and my wife's email accounts have recently been "upgraded" to the new mail format but we have just realised a lot of my wifes emails that were in her inbox have disappeared.
There is a gap from end of December 2012 until mid-November 2018.
I found a few lurking in Archive but most are still missing.
Any suggestions please?
Are you sure that they have not been moved to another folder, as that seems a lot of emails to keep in the inbox, normally you would move them into a different folder.
When did you last check that they were there, as its possible they were downloaded to a different device during that period?
@ssrco02 thanks for posting, is your wife's email on the BT Yahoo mail platform? If so you may be able to recover the lost/deleted emails if they have been deleted in the last 7 days. Check out this recover lost emails link for more info.

Hopefully that will work, however the issue remains as to why the emails have been deleted.
The obvious answers are the OP deleting them by mistake, including trash - or possible account hijack doing the same.
Do Yahoo (or BTMail) keep logs of user access dates/times with the exact functions they press?
@ssrco02 can you confirm if you got a reference number when you raised the recovery request? Don't post it here.
There is a number starting 1N000**********. The automated message says it takes 8 hours to work but its well past that now. Interestingly the pictures folder has pictures from some ofthe missing emails?

The issue could be that there is no actual issue apart from you not being able to see the messages. They could actually be all still there. I think this has happened before and the emails just reappeared.
There's one thing, you said all the emails were in the Inbox - but above you've said there's a pictures folder - unless you mean the Photos folder (might be pedantic perhaps).
