Mobile phone dialling

I have tried to contact my granddaughter on my mobile using the stored contact mobile number that I have used for years.  The BT voice (it sounds like at least) keeps telling me the number is not recognized.  She hasn't changed her number.  I have removed her from my contact list and re entered it.  Still the same.  My husband (with BT mobile too) tried and got the same result.  He has an old Samsung phone and I have a fairly new Samsung A20e.  Any ideas please?  Haven't tried BT direct yet, thought I'd come here first!

Maybe the fault is at her end, can she receive calls from others?

Try calling her from a landline, if you still can't contact her then maybe the fault is at her end? 

Have you had a falling out, if so maybe she's blocked you?

As it happens my granddaughter called me later, my phone recognised her number and connected.  I then tried calling her again and it was back to normal. Just hope it stays that way.
