Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Yes, I agree. Cannot access one of my 3 email addresses. Email addresses occasionally received on Tablet and others on PC. Did not have this problem until this so called UPDATE occurred. When do we get refund on poor or non-service and how much?

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

re move  from drafts to inbox. Just press the Up arrow on the keyboard its instant, goes from highlighting drafts to automatically highlighting inbox and opening. Even works using mouse though. So  your issue  is local to your computer  or  your account.

Another anomaly ive  noticed  the other day it said  7309  mail in inbox  that was after I deleted a lot of unread and also run cleanfox. Now  when I hover over inbox  its up  to 8309,  seems  its either a false number  or  its adding emails on in the background somewhere. I wouldnt put it  past the realms  of possibility  that some of those aren't even meant  for me.

Also  if you placed the BT community email into  safe sender because it was going into spam,  after 2 days you  can delete it from safe senders. It will then not send the mail to spam  but  to  inbox. Maybe this is the same with all mail in safe senders that once you have told BT its a safe sender  it doesn't need to be kept there

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I'm late to the party as my email was only updated overnight. I have issues! Whereas the 'old' system use to be instantaneous to use, this one takes ages. On clicking on an email, it takes about 10 to 15 seconds to open. You also can't hover over the 'inbox' to mark all as 'read', you now have to select all, then click 'all read'. I thought 'new' was meant to be an improvement?

However, the biggest flaw so far is the photo view. In the old system, you clicked on 'photos' and in an instant, you would get all your photos in date order. Now, you have to go in to 'change view', select 'attachments', and then wait, and I have timed it several times, between 80 to 90 seconds watching that infernal pizza wheel of doom, then you have to scroll to the bottom, and ask for 'images', then wait another couple of minutes. It then places your photos in 'pages', and selecting another page, again, takes over a minute!

The only saving grace is that I thought it was just me, on seeing almost 70 pages here of issues with the 'new' and 'improved' system, I'm so glad I am not alone.

BT, for a communications company, you appear to suck at communications!

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Totally agree with most of replies (too many to read!). I have also had my Contacts List messed up, many duplicates, some lost ....

One point that I have not seen mentioned, is that we have lost the ability to have 'Rules' to direct emails from particular senders diverted to folders automatically.

Given that we are trialing this new system for BT, do we get paid?

Yeh... I can answer that! Rules do still exist. You access them by going into 'settings', then 'emails' then scroll down till you see 'rules'. Now, the bad news LOL I have quite a few rules already set up, the new system is totally ignoring them and shoving everything into my 'inbox'! Oh well, could be worse, they could have deleted them!

Click on your email address on the top right hand side, you'll get a drop down with 4 options - settings is No. 1

Re: Wheel of doom . Several contributors have suggested using Mozilla Thunderbird as a way of speeding up the

process. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and it works very well. You may need to tweak it a little but it is quick and easy to use.

Don`t fight it as it is quite clear BT email is a shambles and you either leave or if you have over 20 years  of emails like I do then try and make the best of an extremely bad situation.

A suggestion was made about some form of compensation but getting any sort of response out of BT seems nigh on impossible and I do not think any sort of compensation will make up for the upset and confusion in all our lives for the basic right to receive, send and find emails in a timely manner.
