You would have thought by now that BT would have got round to making a statement about the situation.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

"I absolutely agree with everything in this post - especially about the folders thing which is driving me mad."
The thing that worries me most is that some problems affect some people but not others. How is that possible in a mechanised system? If it works, it should always work. If it doesn't, then it shouldn't across the board. All my folders are in Alpha order, except one, which starts with a lower case, all the folders preceding it start with a capital, so that's within the requirements of alpha sort.

Today's discovery:

Click on the "from" tab & I have to refresh the page to return to my usual inbox.

Well done BT; you've managed to produce a truly unwieldy, user hostile & often unworkable email system, something no other ISP has managed this millennium.

Also, if you look at a message in your 'sent' folder, it doe not show the email address it was sent to - just hilarious!

Re: Terrible new email "upgrade" - is BT even listening?

The addressee that you sent the email to is shown in the list of sent emails and if you open the sent email if you click on the "head/shoulders" icon below your email address it will show you what email addresses you sent the email to.

Can you clarify what you mean by "click on the from tab". Do you mean the "From" tab in the menu bar which is across the top of the list of emails or do you mean when you click on name/address of who sent you the email which is shown below the "From" in the menu bar which will open an email?

When you say you have "to refresh the page" do you mean you have to use the browsers refresh button which refreshes the whole web page or do you mean you have to use the refresh button next to the compose button in the menu bar at along the top of the list of emails which refreshes the inbox?

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Jules like you having spent many hours on this I have to say I have no issue now with sending & receiving emails and in placing emails into folders.  This is now working well. So not all bad. The contacts listing was regretfully appalling as the import ing produced a complete mismatches and up to  4 repeats. The only way i have been able to sort this is to laboriously go through the full alphabet name  by name and delete repeats and to ensure the name was where it should be and the email the correct one.. Its still not finished but I am getting there and I have created groups OK too. This does underscore the need not to let your address book clog up with emails you have not used for years !

Clearly its not uniformly rank and I think it depends on your BT package. I have fibre broadband, phone and email all from BT and I do like the convenience of the Calendar with the same provider, not sure if you can pair with an I phone through I cloud which would be a bonus if it was possible?

Another quirky thing if you delete an email it goes to trash and not to deleted messages. My deleted folder contains stuff from 2018/19.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@ArgirUK  Regarding Folders that's how it works Alphabetical order first with upper case then in Alpha with lower case So Z comes before a.  Change the lowercase folders to Uppercase first letter if you want all the Folders in order
