Another foible:
Delete an email once it's read & you go back to the inbox.
Move an email to spam & you go to the next email in your inbox.
One more example of poor, untested programming.
Re Yahoo - ha, ha, but no I didn't dare
1. In case it locked me out altogether
2. Surely someone else will get the same message, and not be so cautious as I
3. You can bring up the Yahoo screen from https://login.yahoo.com/?.intl=uk
Out of interest, I tried your link and I got some 1950's switchboard operators:
"Curiouser and curiouser", cried Alice. We don't know where these old weblinks will take us. Is the link actually home.bt.com/login in the LastPass safe? Maybe they changed something when they saw your post or you are on a different server to me?
Yes, BT say they are working on various aspects to make improvements, unfortunately, their customers, like me, do not see any visible improvement in the system at all! Nothing has changed for me, I still get regular "unexpected error" messages when just trying to delete an email. I made an official complaint to BT and when they got back to me I was advised to ignore BT Webmail and use a client like Outlook instead. That reply just about sums it up - forget about our product - use a product supported by somebody else!
So when can customers expect to see some tangible changes to this appealing system "update"?

I just love the thought of some 1950s operators 'putting through' our emails, wonder if I can get one of those old fashioned crank handles to plug into my laptop to try them out!

To be fair to BT (which I don't like to be) - the advice to use a client, if you can, is sound, I hope only necessary for the time being. Until they can sort the mess, a client is your best option - but of course those with only basic email (i.e. non BT Broadband customers), or using a machine on which they can't load a client (like an office machine, or a shared machine etc.) are unable to use a client. So they are stuck with the dreadful Web Mail, which not only has shared problems for all users, but which has additional problems for users with particular, apparently non compatible, configurations.
They (BT) do have a plan for 'repair' updates, but I wouldn't be holding my breathe on those.
Clearly what they should be doing (as Yahoo does, as Gmail does) is to offer a fully working Web Mail front end. It's clearly both entirely possible, and entirely missing from BT's offer. To date.
What they should be doing now is migrating no further customers until they have radically improved their branded interface. We are in hell (well, purgatory at least) but there should be no reason why others have to be.
Update - I reread ChesterDrawers post and tried mail.bt.com rather than home.bt.com/login (50's switchboard ladies) and, lo and behold I got the same thing:
Oddly, it had my old work email address from quite a few years ago. The next page was a Microsoft log in page.
Some of these links lead to very unexpected places. It's like going through a wormhole. (scratches head and looks puzzled).
The correct BTMail logon page can be found by clicking on the "EMail" button next to the "MyBT button at the top of this page.
Once you have found it, either save it as a favourite or as a shortcut, replacing any other previous log on page that you may have stored, saved or use as a shortcut.
If you get redirected when using the above email button, clear the cookies and history from your browser, close and re-open your browser and try the logon again.
Thank you for this information. It would have been a useful thing for BT to instruct all of its email users to do in the first place. As my first driving instructor (territorial army) used to say "7 P's - proper planning and preparation prevents p*** poor performances!" Maybe an ongoing mantra for all of us?
