Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

/l\ This pretty much says all that needs to be said.

The ball (& responsibility for its future trajectory) is firmly in BT's court.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@AshtonArcher

Well tonight I was able to embed an image and also attach one with no problem.

However the problems do vary day by day even hour by hour. The other day an email arrives and attached are two pdfs. I open one, you know hover the cursor over it, it changes to a pointing finger etc. Read that and all fine. Go to the second one and the cursor will not change to a pointing finger and so I cannot download and open it. Neither can I download them as zip file. Come out of email, close it down. Immediately sign in again and I can open the 2nd pdf.....but not the first.

Have sometimes been advised that I have new emails but they do not appear in the inbox, no amount of refreshing makes them appear. Sign out, sign in and they're there. But other times emails arrive and are immediately veiwable in my inbox.

The problems are so random.

My most annoying thing is that I have only just started to realise that many contacts have not transferred over. Quite why this is I'm unsure. It now concerns me that perhaps some emails could be missing too.

Sadly they do not give a jot. Quite honestly I think they find it all quite amusing.

Regards.

@JohnRH

What an absolute shambles.

And today it seems I have been hacked too. Not a problem in the years of it being Yahoo and now this happens within a month of it being 'improved'.

Can't even change my password either! Account Info > Change my password just sends me back to my inbox. INFURIATING!

Hi @AshtonArcher

Thanks for posting back.  Sorry that you feel your account has been compromised.  Changing your password is definitely the right call in this type of scenario.  Have you tried this link to >> change your email password <<

Cheers,

Robbie

I sometimes have this glitch too. In the 'olden' days, if that occurred, you could do a workaround by sorting messages as 'unread', but sadly this option seems to have now gone...

@Stephen5000  message sorting is there,  Change view to right or below view then click on the funnel  all the options of sorting are there.

Yes sorting is there but it doesn't have any effect on showing the missing new emails. Signing out and back in again does cure it.

I would also add that signing out of BT mail and signing in to Proton Mail cures all the problems for me....

Totally agree - this new email upgrade is shockingly bad.

I think I now understand the PDF issue...

mmm... for the first time, I now understand the 'PDF' issue discussed previously here. In the 'olden days', I could preview a 'doc' file in it's native state. Now, I can only view preview it as a PDF, which meant that I have just rejected a client document twice because it was wrong - it wasn't!

It had an embedded Jpeg in it that simply didn't appear in PDF form, but does if you download the full 'docx' file and open in 'Word'.

A minor hiccup that I never use to have, but now I'm aware of it, won't be fooled again. Apology has now been issued to my client LOL
