Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Another post that comes under the category "why did I bother"

I am not nor have I ever argued that there is nothing wrong with the email system.

As regards your comment "To be fair I trust you when you say it works for you", I could not care less whether or not you "trust me".

I responded to your post that you could only delete a maximum of 50 emails at a time with a method to try and help you and then I responded with a description of what happens when I used those methods without any expectations that I was having to earn your trust!

By using the term "You people" I presume you are being derogatory in some way so I'll leave you to it.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@gg30340

Please stop  being so sensitive.

If you can’t handle  people with problems then don’t take a job on a reception desk in a council office......and I am happy to explain that if you dont understand.

Look I reported my problem. You presented a solution. I then presented a description as to the result I got when applying your solution along with photos. I can only report what I see.

If that doesn't suit then that’s your problem not mine.

Others here can see the kind of help and sympathy they are going to get.

That's nice.

Pity BT can't supply a webmail app which does the same for the rest of us.

Makes me wonder why you're here if everything is hunky-dory for you.

Meanwhile, most here appear to be suffering multiple issues with this "wonderful new improved" bucket of equine ordure which has been foisted upon us.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Well, looks like BT may stand for Big Tyrant (rather than Big Brother - or the company formerly known as British Telecommunications). I have mentioned several times that this "new" and "improved" email system sounds rather Orwellian in the way it was rolled out and we are being told everything is doubleplusgood (in newspeak).

We are here - 36 years later than Orwell wrote about.

How can a major company seriously expect its customers to accept an  awful upgrade like this? It is cut down, unresponsive, cheap and nasty. Not what I would have expected by a major player in the telecomms world.
My, how things have changed in the first quarter of the 21st century.

This email system should never have been rolled out until it was AT THE VERY LEAST as good as Yahoo mail. Its quality falls exponentially lower than before the changeover and customers (thousands and thousands) are just livid, astounded and horrified. Also, there is a growing realisation that, without a lot of work on our part (as we are doing in this community) that nothing will be done. The instigators of this "new" and "improved" system just hope we will get tired, shut up and go away.

New improved customer service - that's doubleplusgood.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@Oddbodkin I've sent emails to a large number of email contacts and none of them have issues and consider the new layout an improvement.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

@goldmankind

Glad to know that there is, at least, one satisfied customer. Maybe the moderators will delete this whole thread and maybe a costly community forum is no longer necessary?

Then, everything will be doubleplusgood in double quick time.

How wonderful is that? And how thoughtful and caring of BT. Tick those tick boxes guys - ooops, sorry - persons - I forgot about the equality, diversity and inclusion tickbox.

Don't let the shilling get you down folks. Keep on complaining (while you still can) and maybe BT will get the "new" and "improved" email system ready before too long.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

It has been stated many times, that because (probably) of the varying types of hardware (both BT & Users) and the Operating Systems/ software etc hat are being run, various User skill levels, together with a staged roll out of the 'upgrade', we are getting various results, some good, some no problem, some hopeless. The result being that some lucky people are wondering why some of us are getting frustrated at being used by BT to do their work for them. On top of that one contributor here, given by his/ her post appear at times to be enjoying situation. Perhaps as hardware/ software changes and rollout continues the lucky ones will get to experience so difficulties, for their sake I hope not. In the meantime, please cool down, I'm sure that no one meant to cause any offence. Please can the 'knowledgeable ones' continue to help, as BT aren't

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

This is a shoddy 'upgrade' .  Please let us have the option of the previous version and don't foist on us stuff we don't want.

I also believe the security of the upgrade has been seriously compromised as I cannot hover over the sender name to establish their email address.  BT, this serious issue needs to be resolved if we as users of your service are to avoid clicking on emails form scammers.
