Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

If you save it as a pdf then there are some good free online converters that will change it to a word doc for you.

@prabtcom  You haven't opened it, you have previewed it and there is a bug where the preview pane annotates everything as pdf. If you click on the name rather than the icon, you can download the attachment and open it.

@Georgethevic

Friend, they give not a jot.

If it ever gets sorted it will only be sorted when they are ready to do it and nothing you or I say will make any difference. The BT supporter club are a waste of time.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I have found that there are two versions. One must be the one you call preview pane. I find this is easier to work with this than the other. That second one is called webmail.

I don't know why you have two, but the webmail version causes more problems, so I stick to the first one if I can.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

I think you are rather confused, the preview pane is just a part of the functionality of webmail, they are not 2 different systems.

Re: Monstrous new BT email upgrade

Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, we have recently deployed email release 2.18 to bring further improvements to the new email experience.  I just wanted to pop a quick update as to what version 2.18 has introduced,

On my last update, I confirmed that there were a few improvements that we had targeted for release in version 2.18.  Some of these did not make it into the latest release and I am sorry for any disappointment this will cause, rest assured we have already planned to introduce these in a later release. These are,

  • Hovering your mouse over an email address to check if the address is genuine and has not been spoofed.  We are now targeting version 2.20 to address this
  • Hovering your mouse over a link contained in an email does not present a popup to show the full URL.  We are now targeting version 2.20 to address this
  • Sync between mobile and webmail – We have read some reports that when you open an email via webmail, the email still appears as unread if you then access your email account via a mobile client.  We are now targeting version 2.20 to address this
  • Folder counts not increasing – Reports suggests that when an email is added to a folder, the number counter does not reflect the change.  We are now targeting version 2.20 to address this

We hope to deploy 2.20 in January 2021 😀

Now for the other improvements that version 2.18 has included,

  • There was an issue which meant that if there were comma’s or special characters in the names of your contacts then you were unable to send an email.  This has now been fixed
  • On occasion when you tried to add an inline image to the body of an email when composing, an error message was presented.  This has now been fixed
  • Contact auto-complete will now suggest the most recently used contacts
  • When you now delete an email in the ‘None’ view you will be taken back to the message list
  • When dealing with spam messages the following option now exists,
    • Mark as spam and block sender,
    • Mark as spam and block domain,
    • Mark as spam,
    • Mark as not spam and safe sender,
    • Mark as not spam
  • There was an issue in which your contact list did not show in the correct order when sorted by the last name.  This has now been fixed
  • Contact sort is now case sensitive

I want to thank you all for your feedback over these last few months.  At this point, I am going to lock this thread.  I am doing so as the thread has become so large it's difficult for new customers to find relevant information to help them.  This does not mean that we are closed to feedback, all I ask is that if you have an issue with using your BT email account, please create your own thread, if other community members cannot help you then our moderators will be on hand to offer further support.

I will continue to report your feedback to the relevant teams, and I will offer updates on new releases as and when they happen.

I appreciate everyone's patience while we worked through all your feedback, we are striving to continue to improve our email service.  We have made some great strides in the last 3 months and all you folks who have taken the time to offer feedback have played a part in bringing improvements, so thank you.

Cheers

Sean
