Hi All,
I got Infinity 2 as soon as it was available at my exchange an have enjoyed pretty much consistent 78mbps down and 18-19 up for at least 7 months or so. During this time my ip profile was always 78mbps.
Around 2 months ago everything changed with downloads topping out at 38mbps and uploads reducing to 11mbps. Upon checking my ip profile I saw that it has dropped dramatically down to 49mbps.
Strangely, any speedtest I do from BT or elsewhere always has the download at a rock solid 38mbps, with absolutely no wavering either side. It is almost as though I am capped there for some reason. Previously I would see the download fluctuate from the high 50s up to the 78mbps mark with 78 always working out to be the average.
I figured I would leave it alone and check back every week to see if there was a difference. Alas no joy. Last week I ordered and recieved my HomeHub 4 upgrade in the hope that this might change things. Again, no such luck.
Here is a screenshot of the BT diagnostics:
I am just about to contact the moderator team, as experiences with them appear to be quite good from reading this board. So this post is for their benefit. But any help/advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
I would go ahead and contact the moderators who should be able to help you. They are busy at the moment and while it is normally 3 working days for them to contact you it is now about five or six.
Do you reboot the Openreach modem very often? Doing this can reduce your IP profile...
I have probably had to reboot once every 2-3 weeks give or take.
Sorry, yes I should I have said. I occasionally get connection dropouts. Any wireless clients remain connected to the hub, but no gateway to the internet is lost. A quick reboot of both the modem and the hub solves the issue in minutes. This can be as frequent as once every 2-3 weeks although at times it has stayed up perfectly for more than 2 months. It seems very irregular.
