Moving Infinity to another line in the house

Hello,

We have two BT lines, one of which has Infinity running on it.

We would like to close down the 2nd line (which has Infinity), and transfer the Infinity to the 1st line.

Is it possible to move/migrate the Infinity to the other line, and if so what is the way to go about it.

Many thanks,
Steve

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

to save possible confusion you may be better off cancelling the line without infinity on

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

Thanks john 46 - but not really an option - we've had the line without Infinity for a ages and everyone knows (and uses) the number; the 2nd line with Infinity was installed a couple of years ago for working from home, etc.

Is it possible to order Infinity on the main line, and then cancel the second line and its Infinity - hope this makes sense?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

The smoothest way to do it would be to order Infinity on the line that does not currently have it and then once that is up and running then you can cancel it on the line that had it originally.

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

Beware that early cancellation fees could apply if you stop the Infinity you presently have.

Try contacting the BT Options Team 0800.800.030 to see if they can help you with the best solution.

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

Be aware that this is the sort of complicated change that BT and Openreach are very good at fouling up.  I can see so many ways in which it could go horribly wrong.

Re: Moving Infinity to another line in the house

I'd go for getting infinity on the other line wait until install is complete and to your satisfaction. Then cancel it on the line you want rid off. This method may mean you're paying for 2 lots of infinity for one month but it will be worth it.

Here is a link to the cancellation fees you will incur, assuming you are still in contract, if you decide to cancel your present Infinity line and move onto the other line.
