Moving from Wholehome with 5 discs to Smarthub2 with 1 disc. Will it work?

I currently have Wholehome/5 discs for our 200 year old, 3 floor, thick walls property. Current system works, router plus disc on top floor, 2 discs on each other floor, 1 excellent connection, 3 good.

Received smarthub 2 with 1 disc so I'm less than convinced this will work.

Can I use the white discs and if so how? Factory reset?

If not what are my options?

Trying not to phone BT.

@ColinJ2

You cannot use both systems together, so you would be better to keep what you have, and not change over to the Smart Hub 2, as the Whole Home System is a wireless mesh, and will perform better.

Why were you sent the Smart Hub 2 and disk, did you request it?

I suppose you could connect your new hub physically to the white disks, but I cannot see any advantage in that, and it may be unstable.

Thanks for the reply.

Smarthub2 arrived after my wife renewed BT "stuff" so didn't know it was coming until it arrived.

I had assumed it was shutdown wholehome and use smarthub2 because it was better? Might be right with more discs unless the white ones work after resetting them?

I'm not about to shutdown wholehome unless I'm sure smarthub2 works.

I would stick with what you already have, as BT would not have known you already had the Whole Home System.

Its important to note, that the items that BT have sent, are only loaned, so you will either need to keep them safe to avoid being charged, or return them once the current crisis is over.

You must be paying extra each month for the new items.

The BT complete WiFi will give you an extended WiFi Area with the option for additional ( black discs ) under the guaranteed wifi connection in every room of their home.
The service combines a next-generation Smart Hub 2 router with up to three WiFi Discs that all talk to each other using mesh networking technology. However the Whole home (Gen1) is made by the same supplier, and will give you more features / control via the App. I would just connect the White discs to the new HUB, you then will keep the SSID and passwords.
