I have just bought, from Apple, the new iPhone 7 plus
I currently have my own, unlocked iPhone 6 plus, using BT mobile 2 gb plan
When my new phone arrives and I transfer the sim to the 7 Plus, does this transfer my existing number to the new phone ?

The number is associated with the SIM, not the phone, so the number will be transferred to the new phone, provided its not locked to another network.
