Moving house

I am moving house on Monday, I have notified BT that we are moving and have confirmed that our services will be switched to the new place then. Does anybody know if we will need an engineer to come round to sort anything out with the line? I know the previous tenants had sky broadband. So wil our router and broadband work if it is plugged in on Monday?

Re: Moving house

Once the BT service is activated, it should work. The phone line has to be activated first, then the broadband. You should not need a visit.

Re: Moving house

If everything goes well, when you move in, it will all just work.  However, you should allow up to midnight for everything to be turned on as sometimes things need updating at the exchange.

You might need an engineer install if you're transferring Infinity.  But they usuallly don't bother these days.
