if your exchange has just been upgraded to 21CN then it could take weeks/months before BT retail to roll out to it's customers on the exchnage but when it does there will be no requirement to renew your contract to get the upgrade
however if you want to try it now instead of waiting then others have had to agree a new 12 month contract before getting the upgrade. you can try the options team and see if they can help options team 0800 800 030
