Multiple NTE5a sockets

We've recently moved into a new house and I've noticed we appear to have two NTE5a master sockets, 1 near the point at which the line enters the house with a blank plate, and 1 nearer the center of the house with a VDSL plate that we use for the Router. Is the second just simply an extension with a spare plate used?

My follow up is that the previous owners included wiring to the office for 2 additional phone extensions, if I was to replace the VDSL plate for a microfilter could I then add a micro filter into the office to use the phone socket in there for internet as well?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Multiple NTE5a sockets

the 'master' with blanking plate suggests that is original master and someone has decide to relocate master and have extended incoming wires to the 'new' master

you can only have 1 router connected to your phone line
