I recently signed up with BT for the fibre 1 service. I just received my hub and when I went to connect the red Ethernet cable from the modem to the router, I realised that there wasn’t a red WAN port to plug into. So, I just plugged the red Ethernet cable (already connected to the modem - didn’t come with hub) into the fourth Ethernet port on the router thinking that would work. But, when I turned the router on, it was flashing purple because it wasn’t connected to broadband. Have I been sent a router that isn’t meant for a fibre connection? If so, what should I do?

You don't need the modem any longer. Unplug the grey lead in the DSL port of the modem and plug it into the DSL port of the Hub.
