My wifi extender and BT router

Hello all,

I have a couple of wi-fi black spots in my house so i bought a Range XTD wifi range extender to improve them.

I set up the device in Repeater mode, so it copies the settings of my BT Router.

I did this, and i got the same network name (BSXXXX) appear but with EXT at the end. 

My phone and work laptop regard this as a new network. When i open my wi-fi settings, it is described as 'Unsecure Network" and "Open".

My work laptop doesn't like that and doesn't allow me to access work files. Likewise, my Iphone.

My question is, what do i need to do so that this extender becomes a secure network?

You will need to refer to the instructions that came with the extender, there is nothing that can be changed on the BT hub. It might be preferable to give the extender its own SSID and passkey rather than clone the hub settings
