Today i downloaded the update for Call of duty Black Ops and after it told me i had a strict Nat type however when i ran the internet connection test it told me i had Nat type 2 which i presumed to be the good one? then i went on fifa and it told me i have a moderate Nat type and then i went on call of duty modernwarfare 2 and i had an open Nat type. could someone please tell me how to get an open Nat type on Call of Duty Black ops? Thanks

The issue is with Activision, you'll need to do some port forwarding on the Hub.

You should not have a problem if the NAT is 2, but if you're having problems have a look here http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-in-Home/PS3-ISSUES/m-p/77529#M45083

Re: PS3 ISSUES

Give your PS3 a static IP address and the NAT type will be open.

Go to the home hub advanced settings, home network.

FInd the ps3 select it.

Then some where near the bottom click a box which says always use this IP adress.

Restart the home hub and the PS3.

Let me know how that goes.

OOO i like that. easy to follow instructions.

Few of my friends have been having this issue tonight during COD BO but not me.

I think it may be down to a homehub thing? Im using a netgear and NAT seems to be open.

Static ip is set on the PS3 tho and not router.

Google search shows many BT homehub users with this problem.

Again might be BT HH related?

Re: Nat Type Strict

I had same probs with Black Ops. This was the only way i could get it to work for me after wasting time trying to open ports etc. Very many thanks for the tip.

Re: Nat Type Strict

There are a few other posts on this.

It seems to be a HomeHub problem. Not a game problem.

Few mates had the same problem tonight who are using BT HH.

Im using a netgear instead and have had no problems with NAT and COD BO 😄

After some googling it seems only to effect users with the Homehub. Not sure what version tho.

If its A then maybe ask for a HH Version B?
