I am thinking of changing from the BT Home hub to the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band 600, and was wondering if any who is currently using one could say what they think of this model.
I have looked around at some reviews on the Maplin site and some say they have frequent dropouts, is this the case with anyone else.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
I used to have it paired with an openreach modem and it was solid. Just update to the lastest firmware from the UI once complelty factory reset it via the pin hole, and make sure you change "Dial on Command" to "Always On" in the DSL options as the wireless will drop out sometimes. Use the username: email@example.com and the password is: bt
(You will have to get a modem for it as its not an all in one modem/router)
So you say this does not have a built in modem, that changes things then.
Currently using a netgear wndr3500 so might as well stick with that.
I wanted to be able just use one plug socket instead of 2.
Any suggestions on an alternative unit?
I use the Asus DSL-AC68U as a 1 unit option. For me it's rock solid with pretty strong wifi. More expensive than the TP-Link though.
I have been using the TPLink Archer VR900 for a while now and it has been rock solid with excellent wifi range too. It's a one box replacement with easy instructions to setup. It replaced the HH5 as disconnects were getting more frequent.
