My fiancee and I have been living in our new build home on Windsor Park in Buckingham now since Nov 2013. We still do not have a working telephone line.
The day after we moved in BT Open Reach were meant to come and install the broadband and the telephone but here's the good bit........they STILL haven't.
We have had 3 seperate engineer visits booked and on each occasion they have not turned up. The reason for their lack of appearance was always 'fault on the line' or 'work to do on the line'.
Our next door neighbour has a working landline and broadband but we are still being told we cannot have these now everyday luxuries.
The last date an engineer was due was the 18th March 2014 for which I took an unpaid day off of work, the arrival times were between 8am and 1pm. I called them at 12.45pm to ask where he was I was told my window still had 15 minutes to run and to wait. I then called again at 2pm after nobody showed and was told I would receive a call at 5pm to explain why nobody had come. I said that this was not acceptable as I could have gone into work and I was told nobody was ever going to come that day due to a fault on the line.
We then heard nothing again until today when we received a text saying someone would call us by the 7th April 2014 with another update (web of lies).
Has anyone else experienced such a poor service because I see this as being wholly unacceptable in this day and age.
Any advice or help would be truly appreciated.
Oh dear just read your post, yes we are having the same issues here in Norfolk I'm afraid. Ongoing since September 2013, and no help from bt, they don't seem to have any control over open reach. But how are open reach supposed to connect a line if they are not told to. Speaking to bt is ridiculous, no one understands what you are trying to say, and every time you ring it's a different person. Definitely feel your pain. Hopefully someone on here may have some helpful advise for us! Vicky
