How can I enjoy the new flexible packages?
You can call BT, visit BT.com or pop into one of our retail stores. You can also then change your package and add any bolt-ons via the My BT app – without ever needing to speak with someone at BT
Can existing customers take out a new plan if in contract?
Yes – if you’re on one of our older TV packages then you can move to a new package penalty-free, you will just be required to extend your contract length by 24 months
Do customers need a new set-top box to access the NOW TV channels and are there any specific tech requirements?
- All new customers will get a TV box sent out to them free of charge. Anyone with an older BT TV box will be offered a new box free if they upgrade their TV package.
- Minimum line speed is 16.5Mbps for Fibre, 5.25Mbps on Copper
- As BT TV supports Freeview – an aerial will be required
Can I amend my TV subscriptions on a month by month basis?
Yes, customers have the flexibility to upgrade, downgrade, and bolt-on the content they want to allow their TV to adapt to changing lifestyles month-to-month. We’ve made it even easier to flex your TV needs by offering the ability to manage your package online, with no need to call us to upgrade/downgrade your flexible TV subscriptions via the My BT app.
Why will I lose channels when moving to one of the new flexible TV packages?
With the launch of NOW TV on BT TV, there are rights restrictions which means you will see a change to your current channels with certain content no longer available. However, with our new flexible TV packages, you can now watch the very best premium entertainment from channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Witness and Sky One, hundreds of binge-worthy box sets, the latest must-see movies from Sky Cinema and live sporting action on Sky Sports all from NOW TV. Plus BT Sport in 4K, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, all in one place.
If you are new to BT and want to take the current pay-TV channels, you can take the Classic Entertainment pack. This will not form part of the flexible package range and NOW TV passes can’t be added to it, however, a range of additional bolt-ons will be available for those who choose it.
If you are an existing BT TV customer, you can, of course, stay on your current package and nothing will change with the launch of the new packages.

Can a customer who has an existing subscription directly with NOW TV use the BT TV box to stream content?
Yes, BT can transfer your subscription to your BT TV account, and it will then appear on your BT bill.
If you are moving your NOW TV billing to BT and are taking a package that includes the pass that is pre-paid (e.g. Sky Sports Season Pass) then the customer would move over on to the new flexible package and NOW TV would refund the customer for the remainder of their pre-paid period
If the customer is moving their NOW TV billing to BT and are taking a package that doesn’t include the pass they have pre-paid, but they choose to take it as a bolt-on then the customer can continue to enjoy their pre-paid pass and then it will move to BT at the point where they would roll on to monthly billing.
Will I lose channel recordings when moving to one of the new flexible TV packages?
If you move to one of the new flexible TV packages you will lose your recordings and any series link that are set up - excluding BT Sport and Freeview. Once the new package is live, the series links will need to be set up again.
Are there any new Sky channels from NOW TV being launched on BT TV this year?
In the event that Sky launch new channels on NOW TV, we look forward to bringing these to our customers.
Why am I seeing duplicate channels in the EPG?
We are adding a number of new channels to the BT TV EPG. You may see some channels appear as duplicates in the TV Guide, noticeable by the NOW TV prefix. This is not a fault and your service will carry on working with the same channels numbers as it did before.
Can I change my pack via my Set-Top Box?
You can’t currently manage your package via the set-top box but can do so via My BT, in-store or over the phone.
Is Red Button content available on BT TV for Sky channels from NOW TV?
We look forward to this being available in spring 2020.
Is BT Music available as a bolt-on with the new flexible TV packages?
No. With our new flexible TV packages, you will see a change to your current channels with certain content and bolt-ons no longer available. However, with our new flexible TV packages you have over 10 content bolt-ons to choose from with the very best premium entertainment from channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Witness and Sky One, hundreds of binge-worthy box sets, the latest must-see movies from Sky Cinema and live sporting action on Sky Sports all from NOW TV. Plus BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, all in one place.
I used to watch Eurosport in my old TV package, will this be included in the new TV packages?
Eurosport is available to BT TV customers who take our new Classic Entertainment package and those on existing BT TV packages. Customers on our new flexible TV packages that want Eurosport can purchase a subscription directly through Amazon Prime Video (bolt-on 6 months on us, then £5.99. Eurosport an additional cost). Customers can then watch via their Smart TV or other streaming devices. Eurosport will not be available in our new flexible TV packages or as a bolt-on.
Is BT 4K only available on the new VIP package or can customers who currently subscribe to Max 4k keep this subscription and take up NOW TV?
Customers with BT Sport in their subscription can add the HD bolt-on to get access to our dedicated 4K UHD channel, BT Sport Ultimate (4K TV, 4K TV box and 44 Mb line speed required).
Customers who want to enjoy premium content from NOW TV such as Sky Atlantic, hundreds of box sets, the latest must-see movies from Sky Cinema and live sporting action on Sky Sports will need to be on one of our new flexible TV packages.
Existing BT TV customers can, of course, stay on their current package and nothing will change for them.
What HD options are available to watch content in stunning HD?
You can add our HD bolt-on for £5 a month to watch any channel included in your package that has a HD variant. As well as giving you BT Sport and AMC in HD, the HD bolt-on also includes NOW TV Boost. This gives you certain NOW TV content in full HD as well as 1 extra concurrency. The HD bolt-on can be switched on and off on a month by month basis as part of our flexible TV service.
If you’re on our VIP package, you’ll be able to watch HD channels from NOW TV, plus BT Sport and AMC in HD. You won’t need to add the HD bolt-on as this package has it included.
We offer each customer the HD option most relevant to the content they have chosen from BT to ensure they are watching everything in the best possible resolution. If you only want some of your content in HD, we suggest not taking the HD offering shown and then adding NOW TV Boost directly from the NOW TV website.
If a customer takes out NOW TV with BT, are they able to use their NOW TV subscription on the NOW TV stick?
Yes. If a customer takes one of our new flexible TV packages, they can watch the NOW TV content within their subscription on their NOW TV stick.
Will the Sky content be available in standard or high definition?
It will be available in standard definition and high definition.
Will I be able to access BT TV in multiple rooms?
Yes, you can have access to this offering in two rooms. When you order it then you can get an extra YouView box sent out which can be used in another room and this will be an extra £5 a month.
