If you do a search for VDSL modem/router you will find a few. Keep to known brands such as Netgear, Billion, Asus and TP-Link and you won't go wrong. Billion seem to be doing the cheapest at the moment with one costing about £65 although it does not have dual band wireless.

Billion 8800n, cheapest but doesn't have 5Ghz wifi, TP Link TD-W9980 slightly more expensive £70/75

Re: Need a replacement for BT Home Hub 5 Infinity

If i do get just a router and use the white BT modem that i have here from my old BT home hub 3 or 4 setup, what settings do i need to put into new router?

is it something like this :

WAN -> Internet Access
WAN 2, PPPoE tab (Enable set to On)
username = bthomehub@btbroadband.com
password = <nothing leave this blank>

The settings you have are correct but you may need to enter a password if the router requests one. If it does just use BT or anything else you want.
