Need help with hub and speed.

Ok so my gf is paying for 20 meg broadband in a area where she can only get 2.4 megs. We own a bt home hub 2.0 if we got the new hub 3.0 will that improve the speed or are we just wasting our money and should go for a lower speed.

Re: Need help with hub and speed.

BT offer an UPTO 20meg broadband in those areas where exchanges are enabled and an UPTO 8 meg elsewhere (excluding infinity). Changing to a HH3 will almost certainly not improve the speed.

Speed is a function of distance from the exchange and any noise - not necessarily audible - on the line.

If you post the full stats from your router
For homehub – type 192.168.1.254 into your browser
Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it
Click on More Details and then post the full results.

And post the full results from http://speedtester.bt.com/

then someone may be able to help and offer more advice.
