Neighbours line damaging the mortar on front of our house

Would someone please tell me what to do.  Our neighbours line is attached to our house and is pulling away mortar.  They will not pay to have it removed, got in touch with BT who said we had to pay to have it removed.  Are we able to say that we are giving up permission for the box and line to be on our property, not sure we can afford to have it removed, or have it staying!

Its Openreach who deal with these things. Is there a wayleave to allow then to use your property as a tie point?

Ask Openreach to move their external equipment, like a pole.

There may have been a wayleave but we bought the property last year, needs a full refurb.  Obviously the neighbour is not going to be a good one!

Openreach should be able to tell you whether there is an existing agreement. If not, then without an agreement, Openreach will have to move it.

If the mounting is damaging your mortar / render with its fixing, would it not be a "shame" if the whole thing came away and needed to be renewed. Then you could refuse to allow your neighbours line to be fixed to your property, and insist that the line is installed direct to his house. Then someone else would have to pay for the installation.........

They will only remove the equipment or put in a new pole, because of the reach, if we pay.. Double bummer!!

We have thought about this one, but now that we have asked for it to be removed, if it "accidentally" was damaged, it may wave a red flag..

If it is already coming away, who knows what damage the winter storms can cause. Wind blows over telegraph poles, power poles, trees, telephone wires.....

Just cut the wires... when an engineer comes to fix it tell them you want it off your property.
