Hi,
Is it possible to connect a Netgear Dg834g v5 to BT fibre broadband VDSL?
The problem to me seems the connection to BT (wiring /service rather than my netgear settings as outlined below). I have a BT outlet with a top section for broadband connector and phone connection below it. I've tried via two different filters and straight into each connection and the dsl green light on the netgear keeps flashing.
I've tried dhcp, static IP settings the BT router I was supplied with that is working is using. Made sure the netgear settings has 0\38 for vpi/vci
Using user name of bthomehub@btbroadband.com
No password but have tried BT as well.
Using PPPoA and using VC-based connection.
Any ideas please?

Its not possible, that is an ADSL device not VDSL.
Thank you
You could if you really wanted to, but the Netgear is ancient and slow.
For not much more than the cost of a VDSL Huawei HG612 modem from Ebay you could buy a TP Link TD-W9970 VDSL modem/router. It is only single band wifi, but so is your Netgear.
Both these two are suitable alternatives.
This one is very popular, and works with all BT services.

If you only want 2.4GHz then there is a cheaper option, about £35.

They are both very easy to configure.
