Re: Network upgraded, download slow, upload much faster!

Go to solution

Hello imjolly,

I have removed the front plate and connected to the test socket. Did a speed test (not BT) 144Kb down and 57Kbs up. as bad as ever so I think we have eliminated homw wiring issues.

Thank you.

Lee.

Hi John46,

I have logged onto my home hub but cannot find anything that looks more informative, what data/menus should I be looking for?

Thanks.

if you are still connected to the test socket can you post the stats from your router.  as I said that is the first thing the engineer will do if he comes to your home

can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results.

HI John46,

Here are the stats from the router. Something else has come up, you will notice that the uptime is short, my internet connection is dropping when I make or answer a phone call, so another problem and I wonder if this has screwed up the training. The irony is that the short uptime shown here is due to the connection being dropped as I called BT to chase up my trouble ticket. Now open for 4 days, they stated an issue at the exchange, tonight they said my profile is being worked on and should be 'upgraded' in the next 24 hrs. Stats below:

if these stats are with you connected to the test socket then you need assistance.  send an email to the mods with your account and phone number and a link back to this thread forum.moderation.team@bt.com

Hi,

No these stats are not from the test socket. I cannot stay on the test socket for too long as it kills the other connections including for the alarm service. I will run again now and re-post from the test socket.
