most isps use cheep antivirus software such as mcaffe its to save costs as they gett cheep deals and the antivirus co get free advertising
Yes it's a shame that the McAfee AV included with our BT subscriptions seems to slow our machines, has a poor interface, and does not acutally do much of a job at detecting and removing threats. I've tried it so many times but it doesn't get any better. On my Win XP machine I've been very pleased with Avast, and others like ESET are also very good. However, as far as Win 7 and Win 8 (on my laptops) are concerned there really is no need to pay for an additional protection as Security Essentials and Windows Defender do a perfectly adequate job and are certainly much better than BT's McAfee offering.
Agreed.
All PC's in this house had issues with McAfee/BT offering.
All are now switched to MSE; they run much more smoothly without the software bricking the PC's at random.
No problems since switching to MSE
