I’ve just renewed my contract and been sent a new 4K UHD box, does anyone else find it really slow to respond? This was an ‘upgrade’ from my original youview box which I thought was slow but this is just as baD if not slower.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just me then? Will give them a call tomorrow.
Make sure your box has the latest software update.
Also might be worth a power reset too.
Also try to see if its slow when you use the buttons on top of the box.
Its brand new.
Hi @Mazza
could you expand upon what you are experiencing ?
@Mazzawrote:Its brand new.
The fact that the box is brand new does not mean it was assembled and commissioned yesterday. The actual software installed may be 6 months old or even older.
Sometimes it takes about 5 key presses on the remote to bring up the guide, another few presses to move once in the guide. Takes a few presses when entering a channel number too.
I will double check the software level but I though brand new boxes automatically update when they first boot up.
So the issue appears to be that not all of your remote presses are resulting in the box responding ?
Thats why the question was asked earlier if the response by the buttons on the box was different.
it is possible particularly as you indicated that you also had the issue with your previous box that this is IR interference . Some info is provided here

hi @Mazza
What you are describing is not the normal behaviour of a BT TV box.
So there must be a reason for the issues you are seeing.
Here are some things I can share with you, that may or may not help!
1. Healthy batteries in the remote, it could be that you simple have a dud set of batteries?
2. Is your TV a Plasma screen? The the way these screens work can cause interference to the remote signal for some set top boxes.
3. Try to see if another device is causing interference, so if you move the remote to just a few inches in front of your BT TV box, does it get any better?
