Re: New BT Mail Layout

I am at the end of my tether today with bt email. It was ok before, usable at least. But now? The pointless new windows opening up when you view an email, what the hell is that about? Single click instead of double click. And, constantly, I can't reply to emails when they open up. As per previous answer and what happens when you try to reply.   The purple banner which always drops down when you're trying to read your emails. Whoever put this system together needs to be sacked and should reconsider a career as a road sweeper. Presumably you are being derogatory to road sweepers, why!! And on bended knees I beg bt to get rid of the new window opening up to read a simple bloody e mail! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! JUST PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As per the first answer and it ain't going back so get used to it!!!!!!!!

Re: New BT Mail Layout

I have given up on the BT email, as we know it was once perfectly OK to use until it was "improved" but I tried it many times since and found it rather second rate.  I tried Windows 10 Mail for a time but the syncronising seemed very erratic and slow.  So I tried eM Client which is a free program, what a revelation and easy to install with a nice clear layout. Give it a try and forget all the hassle.

Re: New BT Mail Layout

OK, I have literally gone through again today and if my emails appear at the bottom, which more often than not they don't, I have absolutely nothing at all, half the words missing. Some words you are lucky if you get one letter showing up. Then today I have once again done a one click and the window has opened up. I also have my reply button missing constantly. THAT'S what I'm upset about. I'm thrilled for you if your email page is working properly but you haven't sat next to me and seen my page malfunctioning all the time, so I am somewhat offended by your comment. I know what the problems on my account are, you do not.

Re: New BT Mail Layout

One more thing, just been back now to try and open up other emails and I now can't open any of them without having to sign back in and out again. This is something which also happens frequently and has only happened since the changes.

Re: New BT Mail Layout

I'm glad you have posted this. I'm just speaking for myself here btw  If some people are lucky enough to have no problems I don't think they should talk down to us (as if we are **bleep**) because our pages are not working. I subscribed here yesterday but will be unsubscribing. I came on for positive help and have been left feeling like I'm a cretin by people who have never been on my own personal page.

Re: New BT Mail Layout

You presume wrong. My last job was as cleaning lady and my husband does unskilled factory work. We do these jobs because we do not have the qualifications to work in IT.

If you actually read what I (and others) have written, the suggestion is to use a mail client and not use webmail at all. All your problems will disappear.  Try EmClient as recommended by @Kipper1946

Before you go, have you tried out a few things to see if it is something to do with your setup?
I say this because a lot of people do not have the problems you describe and apart from things like not liking the purple banner, it does work.
Have you looked at some of the settings? Like placing windows in different positions and so on? It's quite easy to make changes accidentally.
What you haven't said is how you use the webmail - laptop, tablet, PC etc. Windows 10? Browser Chrome, Edge, Firefox etc.?
I can say for certain, it works well with none of the problems you describe on a PC running Win10, Firefox browser. You could also try another computer in a library for instance.
As others have suggested, instead of battling against something you don't like, use a mail client. Even the built-in Windows Mail would be better. Yes, a little bit of setting up, like adding your e-mail account, but it has to be worth a try - no more hated BT Mail
