Generally use Thunderbird to view my mails, & today had problem that mails are not being forwarded from BTYahoo new version.
In an attempt to solve I sent a mail from BTyahoo to myself.
The message went to the "Sent" folder
But it did not arrive at "Inbox"
However putting mouse over inbox name shows that there are 3 items in "Inbox" 1 being unread.
But if I look at the "Inbox" there are only 2 items showing
So think there is a problem!
do you mean BT Mail as there is no new version of BTYAHOO mail
Yes, BT Mail, the version that was updated a couple of weeks ago which allows to be kept logged in for longer.
Do you have any ideas regarding the problem I have found/experienced?
if you only recently changed to BT Mail have you changed server settings ( possibly already using the settings)
Think settings are correct, they are these, please confirm they are correct or advise errors:-
Server
IMAP
Port 993
User Name :- My e mail address
Connection:- SSL/TLS
Out going Server (SMTP)
BTMail - mail.btinternet.com
Port 465
Connection :- SSL/TLS
Just done another trial, sending message to myself from BT mail.
Message went into BT Mail "Sent" Box
Message was transferred over to Thunderbird "In Box"
Moving mouse over BT Mail In Box - states "1 new mail"
BUT this mail is not showing in BT "Pre View Pane"
Conclusion:- There is a problem with BT Mail!
1 Checked again this morning, still problem.
2 e mails I've been sent show up on Thunderbird but are not in InBox Pane of BT Mail.
If mouse is hovered over "Inbox" shows mails are awaiting to be read, but they do not show in Inbox pane.
2 Previous post I stated my Thunderbird settings, would somebody please confirm these are correct?
Thanks
1 This is still a problem that needs reporting to Moderators.
Sending e mails to Thunderbird, from self, they go through directly.
They show as sent in BT mail but do not show in BT Inbox Pane.
2 Also could an expert please confirm my Thunderbird settings posted previously, message 5.
Thanks
Settings are correct for Thunderbird, also ensure 'Authentication Method' is set to 'Normal Password'.
Just to clarify, if you send a mail from your email address in Thunderbird it arrives in the Thunderbird Inbox but not in the webmail Inbox and it is the same email address that you are both sending from and sending to, is that correct?
