New Build / New Phone line Problems (Home Move)

Hello Forum

First post.

Been trying to arrange a home move for 2/3 weeks now (New Build).  Was told to get the address registered with Royal Mail. Have done this. Address still not appearing with BT. Get told on the phone someone will ring me back from offline team within 24 / 48 hrs but they never do.

Anybody have any experience than this? Any help to get this sorted much appreciated.

regards

Chris

Re: New Build / New Phone line Problems (Home Move)

I have asked a moderator to provide assistance, they will post an invite on this thread.

They are the only BT employees on this forum, and are a UK based team of people, who take personal ownership of your problem.

Once you get a reply, make sure that you are logged into the forum, then click on their name, you will see a screen like this. Click on the link as shown below.
Please do not send them a personal message, as they cannot deal with service issues that way.

For your own security, do not post any personal details, on this forum. That includes any tracking number you are give.

They will respond either by phone or e-mail, when its your turn in the queue.
Please use the tracked e-mail, to reply, not via the forum. Thanks

Re: New Build / New Phone line Problems (Home Move)

Argggh now i am losing the will to live and paying for a service im not even receiving.

Phoned up this morning for an update like I did last week.

Last wek I was told an engineer is coming out on the 16th April to sort new line.

This morning im told its been passed to a specialist team and to await a phone call on the 15th. Yet over the passed 5 week ive been promised phone calls that never happen.

What is going on?

Hi laminypie,

Thanks for posting. Sorry for any confusion with this. I can see my colleague Gerry is dealing with this so I've asked him to give you a quick call to clear things up.

Cheers

David

Hi laminypie,

I've dropped Gerry a line asking him to give you a shout later today.

All the best,

Re: New Build / New Phone line Problems (Home Move)

This is frankly becoming laughable.

Have been given a date of 24th now for an update by Gerry of the social media team

Only to receive a call just now saying an update will be on the 27th. Which is even further away.

What is going on????!?!?!?!?!?!!!!

I expect that Openreach have come across an issue. Blocked ducts are a common problem, where the builders have allowed rubble or concrete to enter underground ducts. This could take a long time to clear, and would affect all service providers, including BT Retail.

Maybe if that kind of information was relayed to me I wouldnt feel that they were inept at doing their jobs!
