New Build Phone Line

Go to solution

I have a new build property with an Openreach modem installed under my stairs,

The BT router is connected and I have internet connectivity and if I connect my phone to the TEL1 socket on the Openreach modem the  phone will function but if I use the phone socket in my lounge it doesnt work.

So it appears I need to connect the Openreach modem to the sockets, can anyone give some advice on how this is done?

Is there a phone Socket by the ONT?

Also you’re sure they are phone sockets and not RJ45 Data Sockets?

Yes there is a phone socket next to the Openreach modem with three connections, none are RJ45

You need a BS6312 431A to BS6312 431A Patch Cable.

One end plugs into the TELE Port of the ONT and the other into the phone Socket next to it.

Google BS6312 431A Patch Cord and it’ll give you a whole load of places you can buy one.
