New Hub

I understand from BT that the new hub is better than previous. Asked if I could get the new hub but told I could only buy it. Why is it that only new customers can get it and us who have been with bt a long time cannot get it free. I think this is wrong.

Re: New Hub

I feel the same.  I must say I have been with BT five years or more and am help with broadband service itself but can't understand that a new gets endless sign up privileges but us loyal long term customers must pay for the same extras.  Case in point was the new mobile broadband dongle on release free to new customers but £120 to a current customer.  I see why they do it but it would be nice that when they renew our contracts that they check which hub we had and offered us the new one for free as loyalty reward at the least!  Asking to much, I don't think so.

Re: New Hub

when you renew your contract it is up to you to negotiate a better deal - lower monthly cost, new hub etc.  best time to get 'extras'

the new hub does not support voip so hub phone won't work - a problem for many

Re: New Hub

It would make you think about changing providers. Later going back to get these extras

Re: New Hub

Ye I haggle prices down.  But what I'm saying it would be nice if a major company showed some loyalty back to their customers for once.  Not give extras because they are scared of lossing any tom, **bleep** or harry.  Just phone me one day and say "Hello Mr Smith your contracts up for renew and you have been with us for 5 years, we see you have one of our old hubs - would like to update free of charge, to say thank you for sticking with us?"

.......Never going to happen.  Move on!!

Re: New Hub

BT doesn't just give new kit away for nothing - they are not that generous.

If you are out of contract, you can negotiate a new contract, and that can include all the discounts and equipment that a new customer would get.

There's no need to actually change providers.  Just the threat of leaving is enough.

Re: New Hub

What is the procedure to purchase Home Hub 3, I am already a subscriber  to BT broadband and am willing to pay

the £46 plus postage?

Re: New Hub

Just a warning, it is a lovely looking bit of kit and Wifi is good but I've had a terrible experience with UPNP and Port Forwarding options on it. My purchase is currently sitting unused and I'm having to use my HH1.

Hopefully a Firmware update will resolve it....

Dont see why we should have to pay that amount of money as we are customers. Could we not all get together and complain to bt.
