Hi Everyone
I hope someone can help me. After numerous reliability problems with my BT Smart Hub and my Homehub 5 I took the plunge and purchased a new router modem set up to use with my BT Infinity broad band.
I purchased the following;
A Netgear DM200 Modem
A Netgear Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Router
Unfortunately after setting up the new kit I could not get it to work!
I am able to see the new WIFI SSIDs in my drop down list and connect to them but then none of my devices either wired or wireless can use these to connect to the internet!
I can successfully connect to the Router Menu – this says everything is working ok!
I have tried inputting
bthomehub@btbroadband.com and a password into the login screen to no avail!
Has anyone any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

Hi,
First thing did you set the dm200 to modem only? It's got a built in router with DHCP. One of the reasons I went for the DrayTek Vigor 130, (modem only), the second being Netgear routers apparently don't do IPv6 properly.
On the Nighthawk you want to set PPPoE and probably VLAN ID 101.
If it's any help the manual setup is described on Page 69 of the modem user manual and from page 25 of the router user manual. I hadn't downloaded the manuals to look at for last post.
Thanks for the responses.
I had not disabled the router function on the modem - I assume to do this I will have to connect the Modem straight to a computer - so disconnect the X8 router - otherwise the Netgear Genie App just looks at the X8 Router?
Will give this a try later (small people have returned and want the internet back!)
I have downloaded both the manuals but thanks for the tip!

Thanks everyone!
Putting the Modem into Modem only mode did the trick!
