New Now TV Packages

Hi

I saw this article on the express website today, stating the Now TV Packages are changing - price changes, package changes and also device limit changes.

https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/science-technology/1447164/NOW-TV-update-new-price-entertainmen...

I was wondering whether BT customers are affected by the change, and if so does the billing change automatically.

Re: New Now TV Packages

I'd also be interested to know whether those with the Entertainment pack will now get the Kids pack free too...

Re: New Now TV Packages

Will this also affect people like me that have the Now Big Entertainment package with HD add on.

Re: New Now TV Packages

I received this email today:

Your BT TV package includes a NOW Entertainment Membership, so there is something you need to know:

1) You’re getting six new channels from 8 June

Good news, Boomerang, Cartoonito, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons are about to be part of your package.

You and your family will get to enjoy them as a benefit of your NOW Entertainment Membership. Watch live or through on-demand streaming with suitable ads.

What happens next?

If you're happy with these changes you don't have to do a thing: in June the six channels we've mentioned will be added automatically.

Thanks,
The BT Team

Re: New Now TV Packages

I was just going through my package and I have the VIP then pay for the kids now TV boost on top, so I guess that will be automatically cancelled from next month?

Off the top of my head think that will be the only saving, cinema has reduced by £2 but hd increased by £2

Re: New Now TV Packages

Got the same Email this morning, nothing mentioned about Fox/Discovery yet, but informing me of the addition of the Kids channels to my Now Entertainment pack, can confirm that these channels are indeed working on my box.....oh well, at least it means i can now catch up on the adventures of Scooby Doo and the gang!!!

Re: New Now TV Packages

Perhaps one of the mods (@SeanD ) could fill in the substantial gaps here.

I received an email this morning (the day after the changes take affect) about my package which reads as follows:-

"Hello,

Note that there is no mention of price or my options if I am not happy.

If they want to add kids channels to my package at no extra cost to me then I can live with that but since I have no kids I'm not prepared to pay extra for them. So am I happy with these changes? I don't know because I haven't been given enough information to decide

Re: New Now TV Packages

I have the VIP and I have both Now TV and BT Kids add ons.
I received this email this morning - no mention of any price changes.

Hello,

Your BT TV package includes both a NOW Entertainment Membership and the Kids add-on, so there are two things you need to know:

1) Six channels are going to be added to your NOW Entertainment Membership

From 8 June, these popular kids’ channels will be included in your NOW Entertainment Membership: Boomerang, Cartoonito, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons.

These channels might sound familiar. They’re already part of your TV package, because of the BT TV Kids add-on.

Where does that leave you?

If you only use the BT TV Kids add-on for the above channels, you should think about removing it from your package after 8 June (you can do this on My BT).

But if you regularly watch Nick Jr. Too, the add-on’s well worth keeping.

2) Later on, we’ll be saying goodbye to a couple of channels

After 30 June, you won’t be able to watch Discovery and Fox as part of your package (although recordings from these channels will stay on your TV box until 1 August).

What happens next?

If you're happy with these changes you don't have to do a thing: in June the six channels we've mentioned will be added automatically and Discovery and Fox will be removed.

If you feel otherwise, please talk to us on 0800 028 8723. You have the option of ending your TV service in the next 30 days without paying for early cancellation.

@StewM

Cheers Stew.

I cut and pasted the email I received in full with the obvious exception of the legal bits at the bottom and there is no bullet point 2) or a telephone number to ring if I'm not happy.

Guess it's time to put this new DV phone to the test and make a call

Re: New Now TV Packages

It’s pretty straightforward from what I can see. The kids pack as an extra is stopping and it’s being added onto the entertainment pack. No price increase. If you’re paying for the kids add on you’ll save money.
