Hi everybody,
It’s almost that time again where we’re planning new firmware for your Whole Home Wi-Fi discs.
We’re making it available to early adopters first, prior to the full public release. This new early adopter firmware has already been trialled and tested, but we also wanted to give anyone interested the option to join an early adopter phase and try it prior to the full launch.
What’s new? This new version v1.02.10build02 further improves the overall performance of your Whole Home Wi-Fi network with:
How to become an early adopter and upgrade to the latest firmware?
Important – Before beginning, please check your discs are running the latest firmware v1.02.08build02
Upgrade advice:
If the new firmware is not working as you’d like, try powering off/on all of the discs at the socket and allow them to reconnect and settle. If you still need help afterwards, come back to us on this forum, or contact the helpdesk on 0808 100 6116 or email btconnectedhome@bt.com so that we understand your issue and help fix it
Important: This is a post for BT Whole Home Wi-Fi (white discs). If you have Complete Wi-Fi and Smart Hub 2 (black discs), then see and post on this other forum where the right people will be able to help you; the two systems are different and not compatible and use different firmware and apps (Complete Wi-Fi uses the MyBT app).
Cheers
Sean
Anyone tried the update? Is it a total refresh look?
Hi
Updated to version 1.02.10build02 about 10 days ago and haven't had any problems up to now. I was doing something today and looked at the available networks on my Win 10 laptop. I noticed a 'Hidden Network' with a strong signal that could only be within my house. I clicked connect and was able to connect with my normal SSID and password. My devices are setup with my own SSID (set to Visable) and my own password. When I look at the properties for the normal and the 'Hidden' connection all the details are the same (MAC address etc). I've restarted the disks and nothing has changed. I don't think it was happening with the the older firmware. Has anyone else seen this?
Andy
I see the same... I'm guessing the backhaul network is being picked up 🙂

I see the iOS app has been updated, any news on when the firmware will be released?
Not sure if coincidence but notice a couple of things since going to this new firmware:
- One of my old laptops (HP Compaq TC1100) has a real struggle to firstly connect and then stay connected to Wifi (keeps dropping and then reconnecting).
- My Roku streaming stick + failed to connect to the WholeHome. Could see the SSID but just kept returning Error 14 (failed to connect to Wifi).
Both devices are well within range (a few meters with no walls inbetween)
Tried rebooting the WholeHome system with no effect. Both Roku and HP can connect without issue to the Router's (An Asus DSL-AC68U) WiFi without problem.
Eventually got the Roku to connect through repeated power-off and retry cycles (approx. a dozen).
I’ve been running this a couple of weeks now.
The issue seems to be a connection with a Raspberry Pi for my 3D printer. The pi connects to the nearest and strongest disk signal on boot but it will then get steered to another disk a lot further away and stick to it. It needs to be rebooted to reconnect to the closer disk. The problem being that the signal is so weak on the second disk it’s virtually unusable.
I’ve a three disk system , the router disk and other disk use Ethernet and the third is Wi-fi connected to the router disk. The pi should connect to this third disk but as i said seems to wander onto the router disk.
Is there any update as to when the new public release of the firmware will be released?
