Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

That's the impression I was under, but having been put on hold for 10 while the woman at the call centre went to check, she came back and said I'll need to send the old one back. I'll see if the jiffy bag turns up and take it from there

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

Not a deal for existing customers..i just tried but because im still in my 12 month the system was saying i have to pay full price for new box not the £35. Spoke to 2 different call centre staff and both confirmed this.

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

The new box was offcially released last Sunday.

This thread has been running for three days.

Hundreds of people have viewed it.

This is the 23rd post.

And not a word from any BT official.

(Maybe BT themselves haven't figured out how the upgrade system will work.)

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

Well reading the thread apart from the second poster those who have posted that they contacted BT have either been told they could have the upgrade or had an explanation as to why not.

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

So you have to wait until your contract is up and only then you can upgrade for £35?

I am confused by this.

The press release says it will be £35 to exisiting customers.

Not that it will be £35 to existing out of contract customers.

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

The actual announcement by BT said, "Many existing customers can upgrade to the new box for £35." here

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

I was able to upgrade to the new G4 box while in contract with 3 months left at £35. Once the order was put through, I was put on a new 12 month contract for youview.

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

I wonder if there is a way for me to upgrade online to get the new box.

Re: New YouView box upgrade for £35?

What's the best number to call, I just got through to someone on 0800 100 400 and got told I had the latest box. They said it was the one they'd been issuing for the last six months. Its why I prefer live chat or the twitter, but live chat say I need to speak to someone.
