We have put together a short survey to capture your feedback in terms of what BT can do when you experience home Wi-Fi issues. We would appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to complete a short survey. Read more from here, Fix my home Wi-Fi
I'm a new customer from today and have successfully set up everything, except for an email address.
The set up process took me to the 'My Extras' part of 'My BT' where I went through the actions of choosing my email address and password. Everything seemed to go fine, but the system still doesn't recognise the email address 4 hours later. Should it take this long?
Problem is the 'My Extras' page no longer shows an 'Add Email address' box so I no longer have this function where, in theory, I should have another 10 addresses to set up if I wish.
Must admit, as a new customer, I'm not impressed so far 😞
this post is very similar https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/No-BT-email-for-new-customers/td-p/1287209 and could take a week according to CL Keith
Thanks for reply.
A week! I'd be better changing everything over to Gmail then. And one day if BT ever get round to running an email service, I might bother to set up an address.
With the benefit of hindsight, I'd suggest setting up the BT email address, and using that only to communicate with BT. For everything else, use another email address. That way, if you ever decide to leave BT, you can take your non-BT email with you.
Thank you for your suggestions. You're both right, I should stick with a non BT email account. I don't want to go through this hassle again if I do change supplier. Thanks again.
