New to BT Infinity But Disappointed

I moved to BT Infinity yesterday from standard BT Broadband and was given an indication that my speeds would be 32-43mb down and 6-8mb up. So far the speeds have been nothing close to this and are only slightly better than standard speeds. I used to get around 16/17mb speeds and now I am getting at best 21mb. This has improved slightly on the initial speed of 19mb but is still miles off what I was led to expect.

I know which switching service provider some tweaking can take place over the first few days, but not sure that happens with Infinity as I have not noticed any change to my IP since it was started.

Soooo....... Is it likely that this is what I can expect as a standard from Infinity or is there hope for the future?

For what it is worth, I am around 1km from the exchange and half that from the green box.

Re: New to BT Infinity But Disappointed

Can you post the connection stats from the router?

Are you testing wirelessly or with a wired connection?

To get the stats: Openi a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

Re: New to BT Infinity But Disappointed

Can you put your number into here https://www.dslchecker.bt.com and post a screenshot of the results.

Is your router connected to the master socket? Or an extension?

Re: New to BT Infinity But Disappointed

Can you remove the faceplate and connect to the test socket?

This will remove all internal wiring.

Virtually the same result - 21.57/4.48.

Does anything in the information that has been requested indicate any problem?

Re: New to BT Infinity But Disappointed

If it hasn’t, you need an engineer visit.
