New to me property

The house has a phone line disconnected as previous person moved out . I’ve ordered BT internet package but they say an engineer will come but not to April . Can’t I just plug in the hub if they send it through post ? Thanks (sorry for being dim)

Re: New to me property

Yôu need your phoneline activated for broadband before you will get a connection if you plug the hub into socket.  You can plug hub into but you won't get internet

Re: New to me property

Can’t they just activate it over the phone when I receive their hub as they surely could post that out in days rather than April ? Why would I need to wait for an engineer to come out if the previous tenant had broadband here ? Thanks

Re: New to me property

Hi @Clairemike welcome to the community and thanks for posting, that's always the prefered option and we would connect the line without an appointment if it was possible to do so.

As part of the order process, our system checks with Openreach to see if it's possible to switch on the line and broadband remotely if it's not possible we have to book an engineer.

Thanks

Neil
