Next Ashes on BT Sport - Cricket comes to BT Sport

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-3208147/BT-Sport-grab-2017-18-Ashes-TV-rights-rivals-Sky-Sp...

England’s cricketers were not the only ones celebrating an Ashes win on Sunday night — so were BT Sport, who have seized the rights to the 2017-18 series Down Under from arch-rivals Sky in a major coup.

In a move that demonstrates BT will challenge Sky strongly on the cricket field as well as on the football pitch, the network have secured the UK contract for Aussie home matches from Cricket Australia for the next five years.

It is believed to be costing them around £70million a year.

Fantastic coup for BT.

Getting the Cricket Australia contract, one of the biggest inn world cricket is a major score and will be a big blow to Sky.

But BT need to get some quality pundits and commentators in, although i wouldn't complain if they took Channel 9 commentary and just had presenters!

Or do like TMS does and invite in guest commentators and pundits from the visiting country to be part of the rota.

Can't BT pull a Sky an refer to itself as "the home of the Ashes" for the next three years?

I wonder will they put it behind an "L" and scroll banal tweets from Jack Wilshere across the screen, you know, just to get close to the viewer and all that...

The "L" hasn't been on any live content has it?

Wow that is expensive, considering the matches are over night here.

I think the Aussie cricket association must feel like they won the lottery.
