Nightly dropouts... fibre.

I've had fibre for a couple of year all been fine, but I'm now experiencing nightly drop outs of the connection and the system doesn't re-connect.

I have my own custom router that has been working fine, so to eliminate any chance ignoring may be hardware related I plugged the BT kit in and the same has happened, orange broadband light in the mornings.

I first spotted this when away from home as I couldn't connect in to my remote security cameras and no alerts were coming through.

so far today I have spoken to 3 people on support whom ALL have managed to cut me off - so I'm not getting anywhere on resolution.

is there a way to troubleshoot this from my end ? Having replaced all the hardware I have clearly established it's not the kit that is the issue at my end. Once I turn the kit on and off, it work again...until I come down the next morning and it's  exactly the same.

(it does just so happen that my 2 yearly tie in has come to an end also)

Re: Nightly dropouts... fibre.

the fact your fixed term contract is ending is just a coincidence and the connection drops will be for probably a line issue

have you conencted to test socket with a filter even if you have a filtered master socket to eliminate your internal wiring as a problem?  try quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should be silent and best with corded phone

do you have anything in your home that switches on/off at night

did you check the router logs to see if disconnection happensa at same time each night?

Re: Nightly dropouts... fibre.

Thanks for the reply, no there's has been no change to anything switching on or off or similar ! Maybe they have put a chistmas tree up in the exchange 😉

i have done the quiet line test and its fine, imma bit concerned that maybe someone somewhere has moved me on to a dodgy pair again, I had this a few years back, the engineer switched us to a different pair and then all was fine.

problem is right now I can't even get past a call handler without them disconnecting the call - it's so frustrating !

Re: Nightly dropouts... fibre.

are you trying the test socket to elminate your internal wiring and avoiding possibility of £85 callout charge

have you checked to see if it happens at same time each night

if dropouts continue nightly then it will seriously affect your connection speed

Re: Nightly dropouts... fibre.

I suppose the only way to see if it’s happening every night at the same time is to connect to the router in the morning and check the even log (it is full of port forwarding rule messages - any way I can turn off those messages ? Hub 3 )..

I have taken the front plate off and now using a filter direct in to the test socket and we shall see what happens tonight.

At least if if does it tonight i guess we have clearly established it is not caused by something happening on the lines from within the house.

Problem is I see no difference at the moment. The event log has very little helpful information
