This morning at about 4am (don't ask) I noticed that I was unable to view any webpages on my x2 mobile devices and x2 PCs, all over wifi. On all equipment I was able to get a valid IP from the router, ping the router and access the firmware. Here's what I found.
Check Connectivity test shows all pass except DNS - 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168
ATM, PPP all ok WAN IP is 86.143.xxx.xxx
Ping DNS IPs timed out
From the log I can see my BRAS ID - ers8.man5
Ping google.com fail
Ping google's IP (22.214.171.124) fail
Ping ebay.co.uk fail
Ping ebay IP (126.96.36.199) - Could not resolve DNS
tracert to above IP ends at 217.32.xx.xxx (ie not on my local network).
The router is telling me that it's a DNS issue but I can't ping IPs. ???
Could be Auth issue but then again I've got a valid WAN IP
Yes I've switched the router off/on again.
Is anyone else having the same issue where Broadband and Internet lights on the router are both green but still can't access any web pages?
