8 Months no issues (First 2 months nothing but drop outs slows speeds etc etc.)
Got home last night, on HH3 Broadband light flashing orange.
Rang BT helpline (can you call it a helpline?) had to go through the riduculous step by step instruction on how to check if my broadband doesnt work!
Did try telling them I am an IT Network Professional but that didnt have much effect.
They told me that they had run line tests and no fault was found it should now be ok, I told them no its not as its still orange and flashing, she asked me are you sure? (How I did not rant is beyond me!) I assured her that my eyes were still working fine and that indeed the light was still flashing!
She then told me a member of the technical team will ring me tomorrow from 2pm to 4pm (And the answer is no I will not hold my breath for that one!)
After the phone conversation I decided to log into my BT.com area and see if I could do a line check myself, I found a faults section with a fault logged by the helpline! I was astounded!!!!!
I then opened the fault to see what had been actioned to find this:-
So I would presume from the above picture it would show that a fault has been tracked to step 1 the BT retail Servers.....
But according to the phone support person, there was no fault found?
Any ideas peoples?
if that is your phone number I suggest you delet it for security as this is a public forum. I would also delete the last few digits of the fault reference as well
if fault show sthere does anything show here http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php
Any mod care to comment or pick up my fault?
I am paying for 2 services I cannot use and it has been 24 hours now.
BT are quick enough to charge me for going 50mb over my usage allowance, but your not that eager to fix my connection when its not working!
trying to speak to someone at BT support is difficult! so far BT india have promised me 3 call backs today and not recieved one of them!
asked for a UK call advisor to ring me back to be told that could be arranged but I would have to wait 48 hours!
Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
also you could try the hints given by poster RogerB in this link they may help http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-in-Home/Poor-Broadband-speed/m-p/14217#M8397
Then someone here may be able to help and offer more advice.
This is a customer to customer self help forum the only BT presence here are the forum moderators
